Communitas
Spain, 2023
Manu San Félix, National Geographic Explorer and marine biologist, has been involved for years in research and dissemination projects on the state of our seas and oceans. Convinced that the protection and preservation of the Mediterranean Sea is a task that must be undertaken by society as a whole, San Félix promotes community work, encouraging both ordinary citizens and the public and private sectors to take action. Educational work is another key factor in ensuring change and maintaining a respectful attitude towards the marine environment. From the Vellmarí diving centre, founded 30 years ago in Formentera, Manu leads the educational programme "Dive Camp" aimed at young people, who get acquainted with underwater exploration in a responsible way, becoming aware of the natural habitat that welcomes them while improving their knowledge of the aquatic environment.
